Pilot Rock Truck Trail is located in Souther California in the San Bernardino mountains and it is a 23.2 mile OHV trail with a beautiful view of Silverwood Lake. The trail is rated Moderate by AllTrails but it is very easy for beginners and some can even do it in 2WD. High clearance is recommended, but stock heigh off-road vehicles should make it no problem. The trail is pretty much open year-round and is great after a storm because of all the water that builds up. Towards the end of the trail there is a flooded area with about 2 ft of water so we had some fun! And as a bonus we had professional photographer Larry Chen shoot some epic photos of us and was nice enough to share with us!
Fun moderate truck trail. Trails for beginners to expert.
- Overall Experience
Lots of mud puddles and awesome scenery
We went with a group of friends to check out Silverwood Lake and the view up towards Big Bear. This is one of the better “scenic” trails in Souther California you can take and the bonus is that you end up around Lake Arrowhead where you can end the trip with a nice lunch by the lake with your crew. It just stormed a few days ago so there were massive mud puddles everywhere and we enjoyed getting our trucks dirty. The terrain is beginner to moderate and if you want to challenge yourself there are expert courses available throughout the trail.
