Tundra Bed Rack Install

Looking for a Tundra bed rack? There are plenty of options out there, but I still think the best overall Tundra bed rack is from MAX Modular AKA KB Voodoo. I’ve had two different MAX Modular bed racks on my 2018 Tacoma and when it was time to choose a bed rack for my new 3rd gen Tundra, I ended up with another one. This time, it’s their new MAX Modular 14″ High PRO-MAX Aluminum Tundra Bed Rack.

Bed racks are very useful for increasing the load and storage capacity of the truck especially for those that do a lot of overlanding and camping trips. I primarily got mine to install a roof top tent (RTT) but also I plan to attach fuel jugs and lights to increase visibility on camping trips.

Their Tundra bed rack lineup includes the new PRO-MAX line which is a complete redesign featuring top and bottom accessory rails which makes the rack look even better. They also have new PRO-MAX Gear Locker storage compartments, Upper Deck Cargo Tray, and most of the attachment add-ons from the previous design are cross-compatible. One of the more important features I like about this new design is the extrusion bar for the Crossbar Center Section which allows you to adjust and slide the Load Bars or Cross Bars. Previously, the older model had fixed holes for adjusting my RTT and it didn’t line up quite right so I had to drill/enlarge the holes to make it align. No need to do that anymore.

Anyways, I’ll do a more in-depth review later on, but for those that are looking for a new Tundra bed rack I hope this install DIY gives you a good idea of what to expect and the build quality of the MAX Modular 14″ High PRO-MAX Aluminum Tundra Bed Rack. And when you get one, I hope this guide makes the install process a little easier.
